JROTC stands for the U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. In JROTC, you learn how to become a better citizen and a human being. It may seem like a military class that trains you for the military, but it actually leans more towards character development and preparing you for the future. The instructors here at Mariner love mentoring and preparing students for life after high school, as well as teaching them how to be better people.
We have a plethora of different special teams and activities to do after school. If you love physical activity and you have that competitiveness, then raiders is a perfect fit for you. If you love learning about technology, then one of our STEM teams is perfect. We love providing the opportunity to build toward your future and your future career, as well as life long lessons that you use later on in life.
During our PT days, we go outside and plan something for the cadets, like team-building exercises such as launch volleyball where cadets are on teams and use nets to launch a big "volleyball" over a net. We do these kinds of activities to get cadets motivated, to build teamwork, and trust. All of our activities are cadet led as well, so it gives the upper classmen a chance to connect with the freshmen and the sophomores.
I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet.
I will always conduct myself to bring credit to my family, country, school and the Corps of Cadets.
I am loyal and patriotic.
I am the future of the United States of America.
I do not lie, cheat or steal and will always be accountable for my actions and deeds.
I will always practice good citizenship and patriotism.
I will work hard to improve my mind and strengthen my body.
I will seek the mantle of leadership and stand prepared to uphold the Constitution and the American way of life.
May God grant me the strength to always live by this creed.
